Fine dirt changes the buying decision.
A robot can have strong suction and still leave the smallest material behind. For sand, silt and very fine debris, filtration deserves its own place in the decision.
Start with particle capture—not marketing power.
Compare the published filtration system, whether an ultra-fine element is standard or optional, how easy the filter is to rinse, and whether the robot still covers the parts of your pool that collect fine material.
Why this matters: we currently records the Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max with a published 180 μm / 3 μm filtration configuration, while Dolphin LIBERTY 600 includes a multi-layer system and ultra-fine filter kit. Those are materially different decision inputs from surface skimming.
Do not confuse two different problems
- Floating leaves: surface coverage can matter most.
- Sunken leaves: basket capacity and pickup matter.
- Fine dirt/silt: filtration becomes much more important.
